Health officials report that the death toll in Gaza has topped 10,000; Blinken says more aid is on the way.

After four weeks of fighting with Israel, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that more than 10,000 people had died in the enclave. Following another night of intense strikes on Gaza amid a communications blackout, the updated figure was made public. As he concludes a hectic tour of the Middle East, his second since the Israel-Gaza conflict broke out, Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated during a news briefing in Ankara, Turkey, on Monday that the Biden administration anticipates more humanitarian aid to start flowing into Gaza within days. Although Israel has so far refused to accept them, Blinken expressed optimism that U.S. efforts to pressure Israel to impose "humanitarian pauses" in Gaza would soon move forward.
